"When I think about my own trips to Haiti, I realize that I expected to adjust better, to find it easier to be in Haiti, and that I was surprised at the challenge of just being there," says Justin. He continued, "The overwhelming Haitian hospitality and the beauty in the midst of devastation is amazing." "But what makes all the effort rewarding is watching the personal transformation of so many of the participants." Justin concluded, "That's the real fruit of mission trips." Ten of the coming 2012 trips are scheduled for specific groups. However, there are still spaces in all three "open" trips - the June and October medical trips, as well as on the July Vacation Bible School team. As FHM's Mission Team Coordinator, Justin Davis, reflects on the 15 FHM mission teams he helped send to Haiti in 2011, he is already planning for the 13 already scheduled for 2012. FHM's last 2011 team, led by FHM Board member Chip Chesson of Durham, left for Blanchard, Leogane and Fondwa early Thursday morning, December 1st.
