Churches are at the foundation of society in Haiti. They are the center of hope and love in a place where food, shelter and basic life necessities are scarce. Faith plays a large role in the lives of women particularly in Haiti. Women (in Haiti) continue to die during childbirth at higher rates than in other parts of the Western world, they lose about 30% of their children to complications of malnutrition, and they still suffer from preventable diseases like cervical cancer. Their faith keeps them going. View a video of the mission trip experience in Fondwa from the perspective of three United Methodist pastors. FHM's Fondwa Project Manager, Jamalyn Peigh Williamson, is featured along with her husband, Dave.
